Each ml contains Paracetamol I.P 150 mg, Lignocaine HCl I.P 1% w/v, Benzyl Alcohol I.P 1% v/v (as preservative)

AEKNIL Injection is the first Paracetamol solution for Injection in the world at 150 mg/ml. Since 1968, AEKNIL Injection has been used by doctors for the treatment of fever of unknown origin and for symptomatic relief of pain. Healthcare professionals prefer AEKNIL Injection for their patients as it provides effective relief from fever and pain within a short time period.

Ingredients and Uses
Contains Paracetamol. For reducing fevers and relieving pain.
Contains Lignocaine Hydrochloride as local anesthetic to alleviate pain at the site of injection.
Rx Prescription-only medicine. To be used by or under the supervision of a medical practictioner only.
Dosage

I.M Route
Adults: 2 to 4 ml every 4-6 hours or as directed by the Physician.
Children (Above 12 years / >33 kg): Upto 2 ml (300 mg) every 4 hours OR Upto 3 ml (450 mg) every 6 hours.
Infants and Children (From 2 - 12 years / < 33 kg): Upto 0.5 to 1 ml (75 mg - 150 mg) every 4 hours OR Upto 2 ml (300 mg) every 4 to 6 hours. Upto 7.5 mg to 10 mg/kg of body weight or as per Physician's discretion.

I.V Route
Adults: 3 to 4 ml every 4-6 hours or as directed by the Physician.
Children (> 50 kg): Upto 3 ml (450 mg) every 6 hours OR Upto 12 mg to 15 mg/kg body weight.
Children (Above 12 years / > 33 kg): Upto 3 ml (450 mg) every 6 hours OR Upto 12 mg to 15 mg/kg body weight or as per Physician's discretion.

Administration
Deep intramuscular (I.M) injection every 4 to 6 hours OR through Slow I.V Administration.
Warnings
Contains Sodium Metabisulfite, a sulfite that may cause allergic-type reactions including anaphylactic symptoms and life threatening or less severe asthamatic episodes in certain susceptible persons.
Also contains Benzyl Alcohol as preservative.
This should not be administered to neonates or infants.

Precautions
Paracetamol should be given with care to patients with impaired kidney or liver function.
Do not administer other Paracetamol containing medicines concurrently.
